Create the Quality of life you want

Welcome! My name is Todd Burrier. Over two decades ago I was blessed to have been laid off in the banking industry during a time of economic upheaval. This led me to search for a way to have more control over my own future. I wound up in the home business world. After seven hard years of lessons and personal growth, I found a way to build a highly successful business from home, using some very basic and simple human principles. I have since been able to mentor many people on the path to a better life through creating a home based income stream. This blog is dedicated to helping anyone in a networking style business succeed. I will be sharing proven concepts for growing and leading a successful business. Anyone who is nice, honest, and committed to succeeding can do what I teach. If there are any topics you specifically would like me to address as we go along, just let me know. To comment on any posting mouse over next to the time of the post.

Fun

Human beings are creatures of habit. Og Mandino said "when an act becomes easy through constant repetition it becomes a pleasure to perform and if it is a pleasure to perform it is man's nature to perform it often. When I perform it often it becomes a habit."
One of the reasons I teach and stress "The Process" is because if you do the process exactly as I teach it, you will enjoy it. If you enjoy it, you will do it more. If you do it more you will move closer to your goals because you will be helping many people and you will be having fun.
I think people have this notion that "work" can't be fun. I believe it is something that is subtley pressed into us as we grow up to the point that we are supposed to look at work as this separate aspect of our life that is all about anything BUT fun.
Certainly not all of work is or can be fun all the time. There should be times of struggle, times of difficulty, frustration, and times when you are stretched to what you think are your limits both physically and emotionally (of course what you think is your limit isn't even close to your true limit!)...but it should also be fun more often than not! As a matter of fact, if you aren't having fun in your job...I suggest a new job!!! Life is too short. No amount of money is worth spending 20% of your life in misery.
But I am not talking about your job here...that is a means to an end, unless it is your true passion. I am talking about your home business. This should be fun. And if you work the process the way I teach it then it will be fun and it will be fun more often than not.
Engaging in pleasant conversation where your goal is to help someone else? FUN. Having someone thank you for sharing? FUN. Having someone thank you because their life has changed for the better...REALLY FUN.
My value system around business is steeped in helping others. It is what drives me( I am not a saint, certainly I have needs to) and gives me joy...but there is also alot of choices to help people with. I vowed several years ago, that if I don't enjoy it I am not doing it...and as a result I turn down many many opportunities to do seminars or consult or be involved with projects, because they are not in line with my passion, my mission, and less in line with my values than what I am currently doing....and for me this would mean less fun!
Work the process the right way, focus on helping others...and HAVE FUN...it's okay...really:-)
