I sooooo hope some of this is post will feel like deja vu...because that will mean you are truly learning the stuff that will help you succeed in moving forward and contacting/approaching the most effective way. This set of tips will help anyone who is working in anything, but of course it is targeted to you, the home business grower.
1. Follw the rules of conduct that I previously gave you at all times!
2. Put a smile on your face. If your approach is by phone, they can hear a smile...if it is in person it's rather obvious.
3. Get present if you need to. This means being honest about your feelings at the moment. It is next to impossible to focus on the other person if we are caught up in our own feelings. Getting present is simply expressing what you are uncomfortable about. This frees you from having to think about it or hide it. You see, if you are nervous and you try to act NOT nervous, do you really think the other person can't tell that your nervous? Revealing that you are nervous, releases you from having to try to hide it (which doesn't matter cause it will mostly go away anyway after you let it out) and the other person appreciates your honesty, and will likely feel better about you.
4. Don't worry about what they might think about you. People don't spend their time thinking about you...they spend it thinking about themselves (unless they are thinking about what YOU could do for THEM). Remember, if you are thinking about what they might think about you then you are focused on yourself. You cannot succeed focusing on yourself. You must think about the other person and how what you have to offer could help them.
5. Do not think about what they can do for you. You must be detached from their response and if you get caught up in thinking about how good it would be for YOU if they joined you as a customer or business partner...you are thinking wrong and you are emotionally involved in their decision.
6. Lots of people are going to say no....well in my appraoch philosophy this really means "not yet." This is a good thing. You don't have time to invest at the moment with people who are not ready to take action on solving their need...you need the time to help those that are ready. You must hear the nos in order to find the people you are going to work with and help (I wish people had a little sign on their forhead that said "I am ready, talk to me," but alas, they don't). You need to hear lots of not yets...if you aren't, then you are not doing what you should be doing to succeed. The most successful people in the home business world hear not yet the most. (remember, many not yets become right nows later)
7. The next person you contact COULD be the biggest and most successful person in the history of your company. Or they could be the best customer you will ever have, and become a raving fan who is responsible for tons of referrals for you. You never know. This is why you approach everyone the right way and see what happens...if you really grasp this one you will understand that you should never not contact someone...and the more people you approach, the more successful you will position yourself to be. It is simply a choice. Anyone can do this.
