Create the Quality of life you want

Welcome! My name is Todd Burrier. Over two decades ago I was blessed to have been laid off in the banking industry during a time of economic upheaval. This led me to search for a way to have more control over my own future. I wound up in the home business world. After seven hard years of lessons and personal growth, I found a way to build a highly successful business from home, using some very basic and simple human principles. I have since been able to mentor many people on the path to a better life through creating a home based income stream. This blog is dedicated to helping anyone in a networking style business succeed. I will be sharing proven concepts for growing and leading a successful business. Anyone who is nice, honest, and committed to succeeding can do what I teach. If there are any topics you specifically would like me to address as we go along, just let me know. To comment on any posting mouse over next to the time of the post.

Serve the list

You have one job and one job only...to help other people. That is truly what it's all about. The list that you are creating (and it should be a never ending development process because it is always expanding) are people you are going to offer something to that you genuinely and passionately believe can help them. Right?
That means it is not about you. It is entirely about them. This is a huge philosophical connection to make. You see, it is quite natural, given the self-centered nature of human beings, to be thinking about what your prospect can do for you. It's natural to think about your prospect becoming your customer or your business partner, because that would be great for you. After all, you are in a business and a business has to make a profit!
The problem is that when we are thinking about what this other person could mean to us, now we are emotionally invested in the outcome AND we aren't thinking about what we could mean to the other person. This isn't simply playing with words here, this is a distinct difference in perspective.
When you think about yourself first, this brings in fear. "What if Bob"s not interested?" "What if I mess up the presentation?" "What if I blow it on the phone call?" You know the stuff you think and worry about...I've done it too. It's the same thinking that brings on the "what will they think of me?" stuff. It's all about us.
When we think only about serving the other person, we have a totally different view. We are able to detach from the outcome and only do what we are supposed to do, which is nicely let the other person know we have something that we think is wonderful and that we believe it would be wonderful for them too and would they like to learn about it?
This serve them first outlook makes contacting people easy...but it will take some time to become a foundational way of thinking for you. But it will happen if you follow this simple guide. The moment you think about contacting someone and you start to get that feeling in your stomach...you know...the anxious sorta scared what will they think kind of feeling? Then you know at that moment you are thinking about yourself....IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU...it's about them...focus on serving the list and over time this will serve you quite well.
