Yes, I know it is still the Holiday season and you will probably be relaxing and spending time with friends and family through the beginning of the New Year. This is a good thing. It is necessary and valuable and fun! At the same time though, we ARE creeping up on the beginning of the new year. Now is the time to reflect on what you want to accomplish as you go forward.
Things are not as busy in business of any kind (except retail) this time of year, so you don't have the demands on your time from business. The phones aren't ringing as much, there aren't as many emails, and they are less appointments. This leaves you many pockets of time to ponder and plan. I know from my past that it is easy to put off planning and goal-setting until you get back into the work "mode."
The challenge with this way of doing it, is then things turn back on and you become rushed. You have things to do and places to go and people to see....it is harder to be still and invest your mind in the task. It either is then done haphazardly or you are behind because of the late start. The time to plan and set goals is NOW. Do not procrastinate this. Take your egg nog and sit by the fire with your journal or planner and get very clear about what you want in your life in the coming 12 months. Do this for all the important areas of your life...your health, your relationships, your business, giving, etc. Then make your plan...if you just take a few minutes a day over the next week to do this, you will be able to hit the ground running at full speed on January 3rd.
